West Covina California Nightlife

It's well past midnight on a Wednesday night at the Club Wings, but even seated guests are still set in motion. Whiskey Bend is one of West Covina's most popular nightlife destinations, and the venue has made the transition from a dwindling disco scene to a country and rockabilly joint. The power center was transformed into a regional shopping center anchored by a department store in front of the nearby Plaza West - Covinas became the dominant center of the area.

The former site in May was demolished to the basement level and stands empty, although Sportmart continues to operate from the former basement. The upper level has become Target, and SportMart is closed, but it is still open to stores at the lower level.

The mall opened in May 1979 as West Covina Shopping Center, the first of its kind in Los Angeles County. In 1979, it was home to a variety of retailers including Sears, Macy's, Target and Home Depot. In the 1990s, it was closed and expanded and closed down again before the Long Beach-based Target Stores chain and a new Target store were installed in an existing space in the center of the mall.

Mervyn's department store was added at the western end of the mall, and the northwest parking lot had a lot structure known as Avenue Shops, which included Hiram's supermarket. The shopping center was unique, as it had a strip center on the lower level facing the highway. In 2010, The May Company closed its Eastland Center location and moved to the nearby West Covina Fashion Plaza, where it continued operations under the newly formed Robinsons May chain.

The Mervyns continued, but Loehmann's was replaced by other national chains, and Baby R took over the top spot.

Eastland opened in the early 1980s, on the same site as the original Westfield Shoppingtown, known as PJ's Pizzazz. In 1998, the shopping center was acquired by the Walt Disney Company, a subsidiary of the Disney family, and renamed Westfield Shoppingtown and Eastland before losing its name to Shopping Town in June 2005. Disney Family Play Center, an indoor and outdoor Disney theme park, opened on February 15, 1998 and was built on the site of May & Co. before being closed in 2000 and replaced by Circuit City.

The council's moratorium came after Crazy Horse owners expressed interest in opening a strip club. The bakery warned that the strip clubs would take over the space if Porto did not buy the land. When concerned residents urged the council to accept Porto's offer, they pointed to the restaurant's history and its proximity to Westfield Shoppingtown and Eastland.

A photo shared on the site also shows the strip club and nightclub. Other club features include live music, a pool table, pool tables and other amenities. To prevent a conspiracy, club leaders and senior members, some of whom are members of the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department and the California Highway Patrol, were pulled from a list of more than 1,000 clubs in the state of California.

Most of these clubs have an excellent selection of music, which guarantees an entertaining - filled evening. There are also some fantastic dance clubs where young people with young hearts have a good time.
